Jul 16, 2008 Fiori builds a bright future Fiori, one of Perkins’key customers in Italy. Founded in 1942,the company now exports the bulk of its machinery to sites across the world. Founded in 1942 by Fioravante Malavolta, Fiori has a long-standing manufacturing heritage.
The company has a 35,000 square metre production plant in Finale Emilia, Italy, and exports 60 per cent of its production across the world, generating a turnover in excess of 22 million Euros.
Fiori offers a wide range of construction site machinery, including the SMS self-propelled concrete mixing systems and the RDS Reversible Drive transport Systems.
The company’s concrete mixer truck and its RDS hydrostatic drive dumpers both feature a driving position than can be rotated through 180 degrees.
Fiori launched its new DB 260 SL self-loading self-mobile concrete mixer, which features seven new systems, at this year’s Samoter exhibition.
The design has been completely overhauled with more appealing lines, enhanced performance and improved stability for faster movements.
Since 1988 Perkins has developed a long-standing relationship with Fiori, and in 1990 started supplying the Italian OEM with engines.
The DB 260 SL is powered by Perkins’ 1104D-44T water-cooling,direct injection with turbo changer rated at 75kW.
The new turbo engine, enhanced hydrostatics and electrohydraulic gearbox with new axles make the DB 260 SL a very fast selfpropelled,self-loading concrete mixer.
The user also benefits from a new comfortable cabin with covered interiors. Modern joysticks with servo controls for loader and loading arm management ensure a fast process, while a bigger wheelbase has helped improve stability.
Perkins’ 1104D-44T is also being used to power Fiori’s D70 dumper, while the 1104D-44TA rated at 83kW is fitted into the DB400 mixer and the D100 dumper.
Fiori has also launched a new design in concrete mixers.
Equipped with the Perkins 1104D-44TA the Mixer 4000 mixes water and concrete in a dedicated area, in the exact quantity required for the job.
Fiori is known for its quality and technological features, and its export market has grown to include the Mediterranean area including Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain; East Europe, Colombia and Ecuador, Mexico, the Middle East and India.
Perkins’ independent worldwide service and distribution network complements Fiori’s export market, offering support to the OEM and its customers, wherever they are based.
All-round performer: The new DB 260 SL is a fast self-propelled, self-loading concrete mixer powered by Perkins’1104D-44T. |
