Scomat Ltee had organised an after sales seminar on Friday 29th May 2009 on its premises , with the main objective of highlighting for its customers , the different tools & techniques that have been implemented by Caterpillar to help in the reduction of machine operating costs , unpredictable downtime and also to provide various repair options.
The seminar was animated jointly by after sales staff of Scomat and Messrs Sal. Page , Product Support Operations Manager, and Ernesto Antunez de Mayolo , Senior Parts & Service Marketing representative, both from Caterpillar's Area Office located in Johannesburg , South Africa.
Whilst the visitors focused mainly on the latest improvements in the various Caterpillar products such as fluids & filters and Contamination Control to enhance machines performance, Nicolas de Chasteauneuf , Service Manager , presented the various services available at the Service department of Scomat to allow maximum uptime for customer's equipment. Suraj Sarju , Product Support Engineer , presented the various maintenance packages which have been developped jointly by Scomat and Caterpillar to allow minimal machine owning and operating costs. Didier Perrier , Parts Manager , then presented the various parts options available to customers. Amongst others he illustrated the various ways of minimising parts costs by choosing options such as "Reman" or "Classic"parts. Finally,Yvan Florent ,Technical instructor, presented the different training offered by Scomat's MQA Regd. training centre for both its staff as well as its customers.

To conclude the event in a jovial mood , management of Scomat invited all customers present to join in for a cocktail held in its showroom.
